Di Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, don condemn di looting wey happun on Sunday for warehouses including di one wey belong to National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) by hoodlums for di state capital, Yola.
Dis looting make plenty residents burst into public and private warehouses wey store grains and odas goods come carry dem waka.
As she react to di incident on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, she admit say di government sabi say di people dey suffer and hungry, but e no mean say dem support di looting.
“We sabi say our people dey suffer and hungry. We agree to dat one, but we no agree to wetin happun because e no go move us forward.
“Di stores and warehouses wey dem destroy, di government go still use money to repair dem. Our youth fit use dia energy do better tins instead of di thing wey dem do today,” Prof Farauta argue.
After di looting on Sunday, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri act quickly by imposing 24-hour curfew for di state.
Statement from im aide tok say “di curfew follow di dangerous way wey hoodlums dey do for di state capital as dem dey attack people, break into business places and homes, come carry property go.”
Fintiri tok say only people wey dey do essential work with valid identification fit waka up and down during di curfew.
However, im deputy talk say dem dey review di curfew every hour, and by early Monday morning, dem go review everything based on information from 21 local government areas and di state capital to take final decision.
“Of course, we sabi say our people be farmers and dis na rainy season. We no fit keep dem indoors for too long sake of say we be farmers by nature,” di deputy governor talk.
